Quarantine
Monitor > Quarantine is Message trace narrowed to mail held back from mailboxes, with bulk actions. The number next to it in the sidebar is how many recipient copies are waiting.
Filters
| Filter | What it narrows to |
|---|---|
| Search | The same as Message trace: sender, recipient, subject, Message-ID, IP address, queue ID. |
| Verdict | One kind of threat. |
| Status | Quarantined + held (the default), Quarantined, Held for AI (waiting for the model), Released or Deleted (history). |
| Period | "All" by default: quarantined mail only disappears at the end of the retention period. |
Bulk actions
Tick messages (or Select all for the page) and choose:
| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
| Release | Delivers each selected message to all its quarantined recipients. Asks for confirmation. |
| Not spam | Teaches the Bayesian filter that these were legitimate. Does not release them. |
| Confirm spam | Teaches the Bayesian filter that these were spam. |
| Delete | Marks them deleted. Asks for confirmation. |
A summary shows how many succeeded.
Click a message to open its page in Message trace, with every action for a single message, including releasing it to one recipient only.
Held for AI
Held messages are waiting for the AI model. Normally they leave this list within a minute or two: delivered if they are clean, quarantined otherwise. You can release one yourself at any time; the AI review is then still recorded but no longer acts.
Retention
Quarantined mail is kept for the service's quarantine retention period (30 days by default), then expires: its copy is deleted and its status becomes expired. Users are told about their quarantined mail by the quarantine digest.
Who can release what
Administrators can release anything. Users can release their own quarantined mail only when its verdict is in the policy's Users may release their own list and it is not admin-only. Viruses and malware always need an administrator. See Policies.
