Updates
The app keeps itself up to date. Every update is signed: before the app offers one, it checks the update against our publishing key, so only updates that really come from us are installed.
How you're asked
When a new version is out, a bar at the top of the window says Obsidian Mail … is available, with what's new. (If the window is closed, the tray shows a notification.) Choose:
- Install now: the app downloads the update, closes, installs it and starts again by itself.
- Postpone: ask again In 1 hour, In 4 hours, Tomorrow, or the Next time Obsidian Mail starts.
- Skip this version: you won't be asked about this version again. You'll still be told about the next one.
Check now
Use Help > Check for Updates, or File > About > Check for Updates. The bar says whether you have the latest version.
How often it checks
On File > About, under Updates:
- Check for updates automatically (when the app starts, then regularly): on by default.
- Check every: Hour, 4 hours (the default), 12 hours or Day.
Which version you have
File > About and File > Options > About show the version number.
